1st Homewell Scout Group

Welcome to 1st Homewell's web site.

1st Homewell has been in existence since April 2002 but our roots are much older.
The group was formed from the merger of 2nd Havant Scout Group with 1st Warblington Scout Group.  2nd Havant was originally formed in 1920 and 1st Warblington in 1963.

When we joined together we wished to retain some of our original links whilst still being one group so we kept the green from 2nd Havant and the sky blue of 1st Warblington in our scarves. You will see that these links are also reflected in the names of the two Cub Packs.

We chose the name Homewell because of the Homewell Springs in the centre of Havant, originally part of the parchment making industry. The springs are the oldest part of the town and as a central Havant group we wanted to show our central town connection.

We are sponsored by Havant United Reformed Church and as a sign of that support we wear the FURY badge (Fellowship of United Reformed Youth). We are what is referred to as “open sponsored “ in that church membership is not a condition of membership i.e. anyone can join.

We also accept girls as well as boys in to all sections.
